Goal Setting and A Course in Miracles
Goal setting is often touted as the key to success, but what if I told you that it's actually the opposite of what you've been taught? In the teachings of A Course in Miracles, the idea of goal setting is seen as a way to maintain our sense of separation from the divine. This perspective challenges us to consider that our goals are often rooted in ego-driven desires, perpetuating feelings of lack and incompleteness. Instead, the Course suggests surrendering our personal agenda to a higher wisdom, trusting that our true purpose will unfold naturally. By releasing our grip on specific outcomes, we open ourselves to unexpected opportunities and growth. This doesn't mean we become passive; rather, we learn to act from a place of inner guidance and alignment with our authentic selves.
The focus shifts from achieving external milestones to cultivating inner peace and connection. This approach may seem counterintuitive in our achievement-oriented society, but it offers a profound shift in how we navigate life. It invites us to question our motivations and to consider that true fulfillment might come from aligning with a greater purpose, rather than pursuing self-imposed goals.
When we set goals, we're essentially saying that we know better than the Holy Spirit what we need to achieve happiness and fulfillment. But the truth is, when we place our goals in the hands of the divine, we'll find a peace and joy that far surpasses anything we could have imagined on our own.
The Course teaches us that our true purpose is not to chase after worldly achievements, but to simply be a vessel for the love and guidance of the Holy Spirit. By letting go of our own agendas and surrendering to the higher plan, we open ourselves up to a level of abundance and inner peace that can't be found through goal-setting alone.
Have you noticed that even when you reach a goal, it's never truly enough? There's always another mountain to climb, another milestone to hit. It's a never-ending cycle of striving and dissatisfaction. But the Course offers a different way - one that invites us to let go of our ego-driven goals and trust in the guidance of the divine.
So, if you're feeling stuck or unfulfilled in your life, I encourage you to let go of your preconceived notions about goal setting and instead, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. Trust that the path forward will be revealed to you, and that the joy and peace you seek are already within you, waiting to be uncovered.
Beautifully written Lora,
It's looking like I am on track with the principles of letting go and letting the Holy Spirit take the reigns. If anything I am a little too laid back...lol. I am super excited about where things are going though as we progress in our business and I hope to maintain this most essential mindset. Lots of Appreciation for the weekly tidbits of inspiration and guidance Lora, very helpful Thankyou!😍
