Getting started with A Course in Miracles

Chances are if you are reading this post, you have tried to read the big blue book with limited success. My copy sat in a closet for 9 years, and it took me reading Gary Renard's, Disappearance of the Universe twice to finally pick it up again. ACIM is not an easy read and it's purposely that way. It takes a bit of time to go through the main book and the lessons, which are to be done only once per day. That's pretty much the only rule to the course. Don't do more than one lesson per day. It's meant to be a year or longer study.

There are many resources on line, including my favourite teacher on you tube, Ken Wapnick. If you start by reading Gary's book, then learning more from Ken (who is a bit more cerebral, then you have enough to start understanding the concepts of the course, so that you can practice them. More importantly, is the daily application of the principles. It is really not helping you to read, and intellectualize the course. This is a course in applying what you have learned to your daily life.

You are not magically transformed after a year, however you will have all the tools you need to make any transformations. Once understanding that the main concept of the course is applying forgiveness in every situation, you will be less intimidated by some of the more difficult passages. It's not for geniuses but really for people who are ready to move their spiritual understanding to the next level.

When you are ready, take the plunge. There are tons of resources on-line, and after many years of study, I am always willing to help a fellow student if you're ever stuck.
